I noticed this week that when we get caught up in the challenges of the world we lose sight of the basic spiritual principles that govern our life and affairs. We get so busy trying to figure things out, wondering why something happened, and then setting out to correct what we see as wrong that we lose our original understanding that we live in an illusion of our own creation.
So, to make a difference in the world we inhabit, we must work on our own thinking, realizing that all that surrounds us is God.
Unity Basic Principles tell us that there is only one Power and Presence, God. Our essence is of this Power and is called The Christ, which was fully expressed in Jesus as our role model. We are co-creators with God, creating our reality through our thoughts. We reconnect our heart and mind to God through prayer and meditation. We must live these principles to make the changes that we are seeking.
So, to make a difference in the world we inhabit, we must work on our own thinking, realizing that all that surrounds us is God. This Power that created the Universe works through us as we think things into materialization. There is a perfect plan that our egos have co-opted and that is why we see chaos, war etc. By changing our own thinking to focus on our spiritual path, we support the change back to the perfect plan of creation.
I am reminded of the song that was popular several years ago. “We are the World” is true. What we see is the result of our own belief system and the way we have been trained to think. It appears that we can think ourselves back into the heaven on earth that the scriptures discuss.
