Happy is as Happy Does is a song released by Kenney Chesney in 2020. This idea is a central focus on the path to becoming happy. We know that most folks are looking for the secret to leading a happy and fulfilling life and maybe this is the beginning of an answer.
The Buddha is quoted as saying, “There is no path to happiness, happiness is the path.” Phil. 4:4 says to rejoice in the Lord always. Phil. 4:8 tells us to think on things that are true, pure, lovely and of good report, and the God of peace will be with you. I would think these attributes would create a sense of happiness.
I guess we are going back to a simple basic of life. “Like produces like.” To be happy, we must decide to be happy. It is a habit that we take on “it’s just the way life is.” We also might take on, if we choose to, life’s a struggle, I am a victim, I am too old, etc. We now know that attitude produces unhappy outcomes and the corresponding idea that “that’s the way life is,” it is just unfair and unhappy.
Being happy is created by being happy. There really isn’t anything else to do. This is the paradox in life: Happiness creates happy and creative things that make us happy. Being unhappy creates unhappy and negative things that keeps us unhappy.
Going back to the wisdom of the Buddha, “Happiness is the path to happiness,” so creating a new outlook on life that chooses to be happy, is the key to happiness that a lot of us are looking for.
This brings us back to the simple spiritual principle that all there is, is God, and God’s language and energy is Love. So, our highest and best strategy to live a happy, productive and harmonious life is to “choose only love.” By choosing love, we are choosing to experience only love in our life and affairs.
What wonderful outcomes are promised for us when we choose to be happy and choose only love. We are thankful that we are a community creating the new by choosing only love and being happy, just because we have chosen to be happy.
