For awhile now I have been struggling with how to bring this idea to you and explain it in a lucid manner. This idea, I believe, is a fundamental truth in proceeding on a successful spiritual path. That idea is that everything we experience begins on the inside and works its way to our outside experience. We believe and have been taught that our outside experiences determine how we react in life. We must work hard, be clever, get educated, listen to the experts, base decisions on facts and seek guidance when planning life.
We are also trained to observe the events that occur in our lives to determine how well we are doing. Our scorecard in life is evaluated by how much money we accumulate, what type of prestige we acquire, who loves us, how we look, where we live, what type of car we drive and on and on. All these things are predicated on what we have done to acquire or not our status in life. This is what I call an “outside in world” where I believe that what happens outside of me will determine what type of life I live.
The material world is full of stories about folks that have used whatever strategy they learned to create a big status mark in this “outside in world” and have failed as human beings. I do not think I need to share any stories here to emphasize this point.
Jesus said that everything we are looking for is already inside us. The things we want are readily available to us. He even said, “it is the Father’s good pleasure to give it to us.” All we must do is learn to start working from the inside first and then wait for the results in our outside world. Just imagine, no one to compete with us, no one to withhold love, no one to steal from us, and no one to hurt us. The key here is that we cannot look at the outside world because it has been taken over by the material thinking and judging of the ego. It is cloaked in secret words like “scientific fact” “everybody knows” “history show,” “this always happens” and other words that imply the status quo of the ego.
The new language of spiritual fact is that meaningful and lasting change takes place on the inside and slowly works its way into the reality of material life. Outside stimulus, beliefs, and strategies set up struggle, competition and anxiety in the physical reality. Only inside strategies and stimulus come from the deep awareness of divinity and create true peace, love, and abundance. Our world will not change until we change.
It takes commitment courage and time to change a life strategy from an outside focus to an inside focus. We know you can get there and share in changing our world. Why not spend a little more time and look at the world realistically? 10,000 years of history has gone by and the physical world has not solved the problems that it experiences. The Bible tells us that there was a time called the Garden of Eden when all was well.
