There are times in life that we face decisions, deadlines, and challenges that appear to be insurmountable. We seem to hit a wall of overwhelm that is full of doubt, fear and uncertainty. We feel abandoned and without guidance and encouragement. Some have called it the dark night of the soul.
Our well-meaning friends and counselors will tell us to “let go and let God” handle the details. Usually our first thought would be something like “how in the world can I do that when my problem is very real and needs to be dealt with right now?” It seems to be impractical to do nothing when the world is closing in around us.
Psalm 47 tells us to “Be still and know that I am God.” It also tells us that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Jesus tells us in Matt. 6:25 “Be not anxious for your life.” All of this advice that appears in many places in our scriptures and the other scriptures of the world is telling us to let God handle the details when we are confronted with overwhelming challenges.
Maybe there is a spiritual solution to every problem. Maybe there is a way to surrender to the Christ Consciousness that we are. Maybe there is a process that can handle the trials and tribulations that our egos get us into as we navigate through life. Maybe it really is possible to let go of trying to solve every problem that shows up and through trust and faith allow the Universe to unfold Its perfect solution to every challenge we face. I guess the only way to find out is to let go and see what happens!
