Interesting question that opens up a dialogue about our true nature. We know what we know, we have a pretty good idea of things that we know we don’t know and then there is that area of things that we don’t know that we don’t know.
Jesus in John 14:12 clearly says: “He (she) who believes in me shall do the works which I do; and even greater than things shall they do.” So, we are confronted with this conversation that Jesus was having with his disciples as reality or wishful thinking.
In our ‘Course of Love’ class, we read on page 438, “Creation of the new will be predicated on the discovery of what you did not previously know.” It goes on to say, “Revelation cannot come to those who are so certain of what is that they cannot allow for the new to be revealed.”
Maybe it is time to look at our beliefs and see what we don’t know that we don’t know about ourselves. A better question might be, what do we find so hard to believe and accept about who we really are? My Bible tells me that we are created in the image of God. Sounds like we are an exact copy of the original. It also tells me that we are the Light of the world. A light eliminates darkness and causes life to grow and expand. Pretty heavy stuff that tells me who we are.
The world we have been born into has sold us a bill of goods. We are bombarded with messages of not being good enough. We are told that life’s a struggle and we have to fight for survival. We have been told that we are going to be discouraged and pushed down.
This certainly doesn’t sound like the promises shared by Jesus in John 14:12. We are meant to thrive, prosper and be of service through the love of Divinity that we bring into the world as light.
Maybe it is time to investigate the idea of things that we don’t know that we don’t know. Maybe the things that we know that we know are so deeply imbedded in our consciousness that we cannot create the new from the things that we know about this world we live in.
We cannot create the new from the old. If we want a new world of being, we have to be willing to let go of the old, the comfortable, the safe thinking and the standard way of being and struggling in the world. We must accept the new and allow the world of the new to be revealed. This requires us to dive into that area of spiritual awareness of things that we don’t know that we don’t know and embrace and remember the simple teachings of Jesus.
We are the accomplished. We are returning to wholeness of life, harmony, peace and love. Deep inside of us, we do know that we know. We have just forgotten how marvelous and powerful we really are. So, the new is already here. Our job is to remember who we really are and discover what we did not previously know.
God is, I am, and all is well. I love you and know that you/we/they are the chosen. All of us!
