The human nature, ego part of us has been trained to be afraid. From childhood on, we are hovered over by parents, families, and friends to be careful, watch your step, drive safely, be cautious who you associate with, etc. We are full of fear, uncertainty and doubt programming. We are focused on being safe and accepted by our peers. This programming is shoveled into our unaware minds in infancy and continues from the world we have created around us.
Jesus, our Master Teacher tells us “Be not anxious saying, what shall we eat? Or What shall we drink? Or, with what shall we be clothed? …your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Seek you first the Kingdom of Heaven and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matt 8:31-33)
So, whose guidance are we to listen to, to create the wonderful, happy and prosperous lifestyles that we are looking for? I do know that the power that created the Universe is a pretty good source to consider following. I also have observed, in my own life, that the wisdom of family and friends has been colored and corrupted by their own experiences. Maybe not the best source of guidance and knowledge to use in making decisions for my life path.
The question that we are faced with in our daily life decisions is: what is our big bad wolf fear or fears and how has it run my life, robbing me of the joy, peace, love and abundance that are mine to inherit as a Child of the Divine?
As Jesus described in the parable of the prodigal son, we are a child of the Living God and all that we have ever wanted is available to us when we return to the bosom of the Father/Mother God.
This requires risk on our part. Taking a step into the unknown can be considered risky by the ego. Are we willing to take that risk and overcome the safety programming instilled by the ego?
