We are here. We have just forgotten who we are and what we are here to do. Recently, I have heard from several folks that they feel lost in a crazy world, victims of political turmoil, economic struggle, health challenges, and unfair social bias. I have also been reminded of the enchanting story of Peter Pan, the grown-up boy who forgot who he was and had left behind the magical powers he experienced in childhood.
Joel Goldsmight says in “The Infinite Way”, “We live under the illusion that material forces and human will are great powers until we learn that within our own being there is a spiritual power which dispels this illusion. There is a “Peace be still” within our own consciousness which will still every storm in our experience, heal our diseases, lift us above the strife and weariness of human experience”.
The world and its emissary, the ego mind, would have us forget that we are each expressions of God. We are each here to express love, the great forgotten energy of Divinity. The Revealing Word defines love as “The pure essence of Being that binds together the whole human family. …Love is an inner quality that sees good everywhere and in everybody. It insists that all is good, and by refusing to see anything but good it causes that quality finally to appear uppermost in itself, and in all things.”
So, like Peter Pan, we are not lost, we have just forgotten that we are here as expressions of divinity to be love, share love, radiate love, and see only love. We have allowed the ego mind to take over what we believe and experience by clouding over the magical part of us that is here to love. Let us also remember the parable of the prodigal son shared by Jesus and return to the Father of love within.
