In John 16:33 Jesus says, “I have overcome the world.” I believe Jesus is telling us that he has overcome the challenges of the material, carnal mind and has entered the Christ understanding of life in the physical realm. Jesus tells us in John 14:17, “Even the Spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive, because it has not seen him and does not know him; but you know him because he abides with you and is in you.”
Jesus earlier in John 14:12, “He who believes in me (follows and adopts my teachings) shall do the works I do, and even greater things shall they do…” Even Paul in Philippians 2:5 says, “Let this mind be in you which is in Christ Jesus.”
All of these conversations and the many other references in the teachings of Jesus reinforce for me the idea that each of us is the Christ waiting to be born into the spiritual awareness of who we are. Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of Heaven/God is within you/me/us. If we accept that as true, then we must believe that everything we want, need, require, and like is already present within waiting for us.
At our deep soul level, we are masters of the Universe. Creating from that level of mastery, our world is the Garden of Eden. Unfortunately, the world has intervened and corrupted our creative abilities and inserted fear, anger, disease, and the other manifestations of the worlds influences and wiped out any memories we have of the Garden of Eden existence. Our birthright.
That birthright is still with us. We are perfect children of God with the innate abilities to regenerate our Garden of Eden understanding. You/me/us are the anointed ones. The Kingdom is within us waiting for us to call it forth. You are the savior of your own self. You are the one that you are waiting to be born again. Paul tells us in Ephesians 2:8, “for grace are you saved by faith and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” So, there is not anything to do, confess, atone for, feel guilty about or forgive. There is just the realization that we are not of this (carnal) world and wake up to the Christ Self that we are in truth. We do this by following the simple teachings of the master teacher Jesus. Meditation and prayer, love thy neighbors, operate from the heart space, surrender to Spirit within, and wake up to the innate Christ mind within us and be able to say as Jesus did “the Father within, He doeth work.”
Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus, son of Joseph, who many years ago, was born into a physical body and became Christ Jesus as he woke up to the Christ within him, setting an example for us. We now can follow his teachings and fulfill the Divine potential that we harbor. It is time for the birth of the Christ mind in me/you/us. We are the light of the world waiting to shine the truth of love, peace and harmony.
